About the role

Our client is seeking a high calibre, experienced Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications to embark on this journey with them. The role is advertised on a full-time permanent basis.

Working closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and other parts of the organisation, this role will lead them in achieving strong colleague and customer awareness, understanding and engagement throughout the post-merger integration programme and build a sense of collective endeavour. You will drive excellence in corporate affairs and communications, setting strategy and leading the team to deliver their ambitious plans.

As a member of the Leadership team you will provide strategic leadership that delivers customer-focused and commercially strong outcomes in line with their corporate strategy.

You will be accountable for the corporate affairs and communications both internal and external across the entire their group.

You will develop a proactive media strategy, engaging national, regional and local UK media channels including branding, marketing, PR and external relations, online, multimedia, events and publications, ensuring a unified and on target message across all media channels.

You will also be responsible for overseeing key performance indicators, engagement and outcome specifications for the organisation that support achievement of the corporate strategy and their relationships with external stakeholders.

They are on this journey together and they’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience in bringing this to life.

Whether educated to degree level or educated through extensive relevant experience, what’s important is that you have the skills and know-how to deliver. Ideally you will have previous Housing Association experience and / or an understanding of regulated organisations to help you get off to a start in their context, but this isn’t essential. They would expect you to have suitable qualifications or equivalent experience in Communications, PR and/or Business Strategy. Being media-trained would also be an advantage.

You will have extensive senior-level experience in designing and implementing communications and PR strategies with impact and be adept at engaging colleagues and stakeholders in a way that wins hearts and minds. You will also have the ability to design, plan, write and implement a range of internal and external communications and have strong contemporaneous expertise in a range of communications channels, including social media, video and websites.

It is essential that you possess strong relationship building and stakeholder management experience. You will have a high level of tact and diplomacy along with the confidence and credibility to work with people at all levels.
