Environmental Project Officer

We are looking for an Environmental Project Officer to organise and deliver high quality, practical environmental conservation projects.

You will be working for a conservation charity working with community volunteers to deliver practical solutions to the real life challenges they face, their activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects and outdoor spaces.

Position: Biodiversity Action Team East - Senior Project Officer

Location: Colchester

Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week working alternate Sundays

About the Role:

As Environmental Project Officer you will be responsible for:

 

  • Organising and delivering high quality, practical environmental conservation projects for volunteers
  • Developing and maintaining partner relationships
  • Managing budgets and resources, including vehicles, tools and equipment
  • Supporting income generation via the pursuit of local authority contracts, grant and corporate funding opportunities
  • Maintaining safe working practices
  • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers
  • Maintaining records of activities and report to partners as required

 

About You:

You will have experience of working with volunteers, a wide range of practical environmental conservation skills and the personality, aptitude and experience to share them with volunteers of differing abilities.

IT literacy and basic financial skills are also required, as well as a full, clean driving license. Access to your own car and experience of driving a minibus-sized vehicle would be advantageous.
