TPP Recruitment are excited to be working with a unique maritime charity and society who provide youth engagement opportunities and life-long learning for those in the sector.
They are now looking to recruit a Safeguarding Officer to join a busy team, seeking to strive for excellence in their practices to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults. There are a number of ambitious plans and projects, so while this role is fixed term until March 31st 2022, there may be other opportunities in future.
The safeguarding team is based in central London and is responsible for providing training, advice and guidance to their volunteers relating to all safeguarding matters. Your role will involve some casework but you'll be primarily responsible for reviewing the current safeguarding training offer and looking at ways of improving it, as well as delivering safeguarding training to volunteers.
You'll need to have substantial knowledge of statutory requirements and best practice guidance relating to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults as well as experience of delivering training to adults, preferable in the voluntary youth or community sector. You may also be suited to this role if you have safeguarding experience in the context of a school, probation services or social care environment for example.
While this is a Monday - Friday full time role, a flexible approach to working patters will be required as sometimes training is delivered outside of standard hours. The organisation is currently taking a hybrid approach to home and office based working, where you will be required to work from the London office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
If you're passionate about safeguarding and enjoy delivering training, this could be a great role for you.
