Our client a Cambridge University are looking for their new Director, Alumni Engagement to join their team.

The postholder will be responsible for the long-range strategy, and delivery of the University’s comprehensive alumni engagement programme. You will be a champion for alumni engagement, providing vision and leadership to ensure that the University makes the most of its unique position.

Alumni Engagement is at the heart of advancement. It is crucial that the University foster meaningful, mutually beneficial and enduring relationships with, and between alumni, volunteers, students and other friends of the University.

You will join at an exciting time in their engagement with its alumni. Building on two record years, you will take the programme to the next level articulating a new strategic plan to help ensure that the University meets its objectives. 

Reporting to the Executive Director and a member of the Leadership Management team, you will lead a team of 7 delivering a programme of communications, events, benefits, and volunteering opportunities to over 314,000 alumni in 186 countries and 400 alumni groups.

They are looking for an individual who wants to innovate and lead the sector in alumni engagement.  As the successful candidate, you will have a demonstrable track record in alumni engagement in a significant academic or philanthropic institution. With proven knowledge and expertise in developing, operationalising and executing strategy, achieving outcomes and driving change, you will have a positive, collaborative approach to building, managing and developing a results-orientated high functioning team.

This role is based in central Cambridge.  They practice a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days a week.  They welcome discussions on flexible working.  

Closing date for this position is 16th January 2022.
First round interviews for this position are anticipated to take place week commencing 24th January 2022.
Second round interviews for this position are anticipated to take place the first week in February 2022.
