This role will work primarily on the UK Social Justice Fund, helping to support the smooth running of the fund. The person will work with both internal and external stakeholders, administering the grants, liaising with charities and helping build the profile of the fund and the grantees. Within a small team but part of a wider HR department, the role will work closely with the Director of D&I and Social Impact and the steering committee and Board of the SJF. This is a great opportunity to join a new Fund at a crucial stage of its development.

What you'll do:

  • Research prospective charities and determine opportunities for the Social Justice Fund, managing in a tracker
  • Field enquiries from staff and charities about applying to SJF
  • Support applicants through grants process
  • Work with communications team and external PR agency to create a monthly news update plus other internal and external communications on partnerships
  • Administer grant payments and charity agreements
  • Help to arrange events to celebrate and showcase charity partners
  • Ensure website and intranet are updated with information about the work of SJF, charity partners and volunteering opportunities
  • Create presentations and packs for Board meetings and minute meetings
  • Respond to information requests from USA Philanthropy and Social impact Team
  • Collate monitoring and evaluation information on grants

Who you are:

  • Experience either working for, or with UK charities in fundraIsing or grant making
  • An understanding of the charity funding landscape in the UK
  • Familiarity with at least one theme of the SJF – education / criminal justice /community engagement – through an anti-racist lens
  • Partnership working and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good administrative skills
