Director of Digital and Content

£80,000pa

Woking, Surrey GU21 4LL

Are you a senior leader that understands how to drive change and growth through creative storytelling and compelling digital engagement? Have you led teams that have delivered significant digital transformation to a business or organisation?

If so, this is an incredible opportunity to join WWF UK and help us fight for our world, tackling climate change and restoring nature.

The fate of our planet is not a done deal. We can and will save it. We are the first generation to realise our full impact on the world and we are the last one that can do anything about it.

Become our Director of Digital and Content and enjoy responsibility for our overall digital and content strategy and galvanise the whole organisation to make a real difference in restoring nature to its glorious best.

As Director of Digital and Content you will bring digital expertise, rigor and leadership to support new initiatives, advise on business-critical projects, campaigns and drive our digital and data maturity forward.

You will lead on the development of a digital and content strategy and delivery plan for the whole organisation.

This will involve transforming the way we use, embrace and embed digital and content.

You will motivate your team to produce work of the highest standard that meets organisational needs in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

You will also spot opportunities to grow and develop our reach and audiences via new and emerging platforms and creative storytelling.

You will oversee contracts and increase our capacity to deliver projects internally too. Important will be the ability to manage stakeholders and demonstrate the value of a more modern, digital approach to internal colleagues.

For this role you must have worked in a similar senior level position in the public or private sector. Passionate about producing great digital experiences, you will have experience of delivering significant digital transformation to business technologies and processes that deliver commercial growth, increase support and improve cost savings and service.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced digital studio environment you will be used to managing suppliers and enhancing the capacity of internal digital teams to deliver projects. Commercially astute, you will be familiar with embedding best practice and ensuring high standards too.

An excellent communicator, you will be effective at networking, influencing others and building high performing teams. Results driven, you will possess strong project management, planning and problem-solving skills too.

If you have the leadership skills and vision to inspire storytelling and present engaging experiences for our UK and overseas supporters, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

Application closing date : 12/12/2021

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
