Finance & IT Director
£65,000 - £75,000 plus benefits, negotiable
Eastbourne and Hastings

About us:

St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Eastbourne and St Michael’s Hospice, Hastings & Rother are in the unique position to be able to offer an opportunity to work across both organisations as our joint Finance and IT Director. Both hospices are independent entities providing end-of-life support to the population of East Sussex, through our highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams. We have a clear vision of reaching increasing numbers of local patients and their families, in close collaboration with our community. In recent years, the hospices have been working increasingly in partnership and this role is an example, having been trialled in 2021. We are now looking for someone to take this forward on a permanent basis.

The role:

Join us to fulfil this innovative role working closely with, and as a member of, the leadership teams at each hospice. We are looking for an inspirational leader and finance specialist to develop and implement strategic finance and IT initiatives in both hospices to achieve greater alignment, improved efficiencies, effective operations and best value for money.

You will be the principal financial advisor to the Board and leadership teams of both hospices, ensuring a clear understanding of financial risks and opportunities and how these can be managed to meet strategic aims.

You will provide a clear commercial focus in our negotiations with external funders and advise on the configuration and delivery of services to respond to a changing funding situation. You will also be an effective agent of change, playing a pivotal role in promoting new ways of working that optimise skills and resources.

We can offer a great working environment in a dynamic sector and we believe this role will offer fresh challenges and progression for someone who understands partnership working and the value this can unleash. A competitive salary and benefits package will be on offer to the right candidate.

If you would like to talk to someone about the role, please get in touch with David Scott-Ralphs, St Wilfrid’s CEO, or Karen Clarke, St Michael’s CEO.

To apply, please select the apply button and send your CV and a short covering letter.

The closing date for applications is Monday 6th December at 5pm and interviews will take place on Friday 10th December or Monday 13th December.
