Stroke Service Operations Manager
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Operations Manager to lead an exciting new service supporting stroke affected people adapt to life after stroke. You will be joining a long established local charity with a close and committed team in this exciting new role.
Position: Operations Manager
Hours: Part-time 21 hours per week, flexible working (but must work Fridays)
Salary: £34,492 pro rata
Benefits: 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata. Employee pension scheme.

As Operations Manager, you will be working with the Chief Executive to ensure that a newly created Stroke Key Worker service is effectively planned, developed and delivered. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of service delivery and operations and monitoring long and short-term plans.
You will support, develop and direct a core team of staff and ensure that they are meeting the needs of the individual and ensure legal and organisational compliance and that the right processes and practices are implemented.
Main duties include:
- Manage delivery of the service specification
- With the CEO, monitor budgets and the control of expenditure relating to operations
- Ensure Safeguarding is managed effectively, taking on a lead position within the organisation
- Ensure that activities meet with the organisations requirements
- Liaison and ultimately integration with the Integrated Community Stroke Service,
- Deal with complaints from service users or other agencies
- Ensure equal access to services
As Operations Manager, you will need to have excellent people management skills, knowledge of wider community support and a passion for supporting people rebuild their lives after stroke.
You will need to be confident in monitoring, reporting and communicating key aspects of the service in a wide range of professional settings and have strong management, communication and coaching skills alongside a passion for supporting stroke affected people adapt to life after stroke.
You will have experience of:
- Working with people who have had a stroke and aphasia or disability.
- Assessing safeguarding concerns.
- Working in the community and voluntary sector.
- Managing budgets and monitoring projects.
- Effective partnership working (internal and external).
- Delivery of presentations, chairing and coordinating meetings, producing and communicating reports.

The charity is a small friendly team of Stroke Coordinators, Group Organisers, Counsellors and volunteers, providing information, practical support, friendship and counselling in the months and years following a stroke.
