Salary: £36,076

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week

Profits generated by group members; Developments and HMS are reinvested into their charitable arm; Foundation, a community anchor institution, to fund projects that build social capital and fulfil their mission of ‘growing stronger communities’.

 

They’re looking for a Policy & Stakeholder Liaison Officer to support and develop the relationship between the group and its political stakeholders, which include MPs and Government departments, devolved and local authorities, and national trade associations.

 

This is an important role in which you will:

  • Produce strategic briefing and policy notes, both for internal leaders and external audiences, responding to a wide range of themes and to current and emerging policy
  • Maintain the Group’s stakeholder CRM and handle stakeholder enquiries as a primary point of contact
  • Work closely with Communications and Marketing and Business Assurance to ensure the business is well informed in order to deliver its corporate priorities and able to plan ahead, leading with best practice and market intelligence and positioning the business with the right leaders and influencers
  • To cover other parts of the business, often working under pressure and to tight deadlines with occasional evening and weekend work required

     

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a Degree or relevant experience in political, public affairs or external relations function at a large-scale organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing, policy analysis and organising external campaigns, and knowledge of the local and national political and policy environments
  • Knowledge of the external affairs, political developments, social housing sector, industry policy and best practice, as they emerge
  • Have the ability to communicate to a range of audiences, together with strong writing and team working skills.
  • Be able to analyse and interpret complex information and to brief those at the highest organisational levels, both internally and externally
  • Be a competent user of the digital/social media channels and their role in communication and driving business success
