Our client, a Charity incorporated by Royal Charter, is recruiting for a new Communications Manager (Education) to join their team. The main purpose of this role is to develop and deliver a broad and engaging communications strategy for the charity’s Education programmes. This role will work closely alongside the Education team to deliver campaigns for teachers, educators and young people.

This charity’s Education Programmes include the CREST Awards – a scheme that encourages young people to take on the role of a scientist or engineer through running their own projects / investigations – and British Science Week – a national awareness week that encourages people of all ages to engage with science.

For both the CREST Awards and British Science Week, they offer small grants to schools in challenging circumstances to support them to take part in the schemes. Part of this role will be to promote these funding opportunities to eligible schools by developing targeted campaigns to reach and engage them.

The organisation also regularly produces teaching resources for their audiences, including the highly popular British Science Week activity packs, and a range of project ideas and activities on the CREST resource library. The Communications Manager (Education) is responsible for the comms oversight of these resources, including design, copyediting / proofing, and the promotion of them.

The Communications Manager (Education) role would suit someone who has experience of delivering communications campaigns in the education sector or to a teacher audience. They would recommend that having an interest in developing innovative, digital content or products for diverse audiences would also be useful, as they are already delivering a lot of their content for schools online.

The successful candidate will need to create campaigns that make use of a range of channels, so a demonstrable interest in PR, marketing, digital and brand will be required.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively across different teams and departments to achieve results.

Closing date – 9am Wednesday 17 November 2021
Interviews – W/c 29 November 2021
