Are you a self-motivated, innovative team player, who is solution focused and passionate about making a difference? Do you have an excellent track record of delivering and embedding complex transformation and change projects? If so, we want to hear from you.

At Family Action, we transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation. We have been building stronger families since 1869 and today we work with more than 60,000 families in over 150 community-based services, as well as supporting thousands more through national programmes and grants.

Introduction to the role and service

Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service (PARCS) is committed to supporting and empowering all those with lived experience of sexual violence and domestic abuse.

PARCS recently merged with Family Action, and we are in a phase of significant transformational change focused on quality, care and resilience; developing our excellent longstanding reputation in Portsmouth and extending our reach within the local area and beyond. We work with young people and adults, as individuals and groups within the community.

You will be a passionate, clinically trained professional, wanting to make a difference to the lives of those PARCS works with, whilst being committed to ensuring the highest standards of quality and client experience are upheld.

You will have significant experience of transformation programme leadership and a professional background in humanistic therapy. You will work closely with the Deputy Director, Operational and Service Manager and be accountable to a Transformation Programme Board to lead and develop systemic change across the PARCS portfolio of services.

Your skills

- You will have a strong track record of working with survivors of sexual abuse, rape or domestic abuse and a strong focus on quality and effectiveness. We want to hire a ‘can-do’ leader who will build and sustain positive working relationships with staff and stakeholders.
- You will be able to swiftly develop a robust transformation programme and workstreams and give coaching and professional support to the clinical staff team
- You will have a sound understanding of complex budget and contract compliance and have a focus of quality and effectiveness of practice

Family Action welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all that we do and know that greater diversity will lead to even greater results for families and children.

Your impact

You will work under the auspice of the Deputy Director along with the team to ensure the provision of sustainable, high-quality and safe service delivery and that clients leave with significant improvements in their well-being.

You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in the improvement journey and will understand the feasibility and sustainability of the portfolio of services being delivered.

What will we offer you?

We’ll offer you flexible working hours, a generous pension scheme and leave entitlements, eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits. We have an excellent wellbeing offer and we’ll invest in your professional development with ongoing quality training and career development opportunities. You’ll join an established, supportive and high-performing service and have the opportunity to thrive in an innovative, non-hierarchal organisation that values your opinion, encourages learning and has the needs of children and families at its core.

We are forward looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills, then we look forward to hearing from you.
