Events and Communications Manager
 
Salary: up to £30,000
Reports to: Head of Events and Partnerships
Annual leave: 25 days’ holiday per annum plus 3 additional fixed days at Christmas/New Year
Location: After the Covid period, the successful candidate will work from a central London office location (likely 1-2 days per week at first and possibly retaining a degree of homeworking in the longer term, subject to further discussion)

UKSIF was founded in 1991 and now has 275+ members made up of investment managers, pension funds, banks, financial advisers, research providers, consultants and NGOs. We have seen increasing member engagement and strong membership growth over recent years and are looking to build on this track record.
 
UKSIF is now seeking an Events and Communications Manager to help with our enhanced and expanded events programme, which we intend to return to in-person delivery from the start of 2022. Working with the UKSIF Events Team and members, you will help support the development and delivery of a rapidly growing, vibrant events programme which will support the drive to a more sustainable finance system and help deliver UKSIF’s mission to connect the sustainable finance community, share knowledge and successfully influence government policy.
 
As the Events and Communications Manager, you will work closely with the whole UKSIF team and play a key role in the logistics and marketing of the events, ranging from UKSIF’s flagship Spring (Edinburgh) and Autumn (London) conferences and Good Money Week, to webinars, short seminars, roundtables and lectures. You will co-ordinate event logistics and work with the rest of the team with the on-the-day management.
 
During the Covid-19 period, UKSIF events have moved online. We are hoping to produce mainly in-person events in 2022, while maintaining an online presence through a hybrid delivery format.
 
This role would suit a motivated and experienced events professional with good communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Events and Partnerships and work with the whole team to continue producing exceptional events.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
- Managing speaker logistics
- Logistical support during events
- Post event debriefs
- Prepare and send out member communications, including events materials and UKSIF newsletters
- Ensuring events attract a great audience from across UKSIF’s membership
- Support the development of event agendas
- Assist the team on the development and delivery of the overall events strategy
- Work to enhance the quality and impact of UKSIF events
- Other duties as reasonably required
 
Person Specification
 
The applicant must have:
 
- An interest in sustainability, climate change and social issues
- Minimum 2 years’ events experience
- Brilliant attention to detail
- The ability to balance multiple projects at once
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills
- Experience with in-person and remote events
