We are now looking for a Deputy Director of Finance to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role
 
As our Deputy Director, you will be responsible for the transparent financial governance of the organisation and maintain the financial viability of the charity.
 
You will ensure the effective flow of information across all parts of the organisation, particularly to our SMT, Finance and Administration Sub-Committee, Board, and Auditors. This will include producing management accounts, cash flow financial forecasting, and leading on our Annual Audit.
 
You will also lead on financial planning, including managing budget setting and reforecasting for the organisation. Working with colleagues, you will ensure we generate surplus each year by identifying trends or risks which might impact budget decisions.
 
Ensuring finances are effectively managed, you will:
 
- Lead and develop financial processes across the organisation to ensure the smooth running of all finance functions
- Ensure compliance with internal and external finance and income regulations
- Ensure Full Cost Recovery is accurately calculated for projects
- Identify funding gaps
- Support project initiation and management
 
About You
 
To join us as our Deputy Director of Finance, you will need:
 
- At least five years’ experience of working in a finance role
- A minimum of two years’ experience leading a team and/or function
- Experience of leading on annual and project budget setting and reforecasting
- Experience of submitting financial related claims such as VAT and tax returns, gift aid claims, and HMRC reporting
- An understanding of financial risks and knowledge around risk mitigation
- A demonstrable commitment to equality of opportunity and an understanding of the issues faced by LGBT communities
- Knowledge of working with accountancy software (ideally Quickbooks or similar)
- The ability to convey complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format
- Excellent analytical skills
- A CCAB Qualification (an AAT with relevant experience would be considered)
 
Other organisations may call this role Senior Finance Manager, Deputy Head of Finance, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Accountancy Manager, Management Accountant, Deputy Financial Officer, or Deputy Director of Finance.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week.
