Finance and Operations Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to work for an NGO as a Finance and Operations Manager, in fully home-based position.

Position: Finance and Operations Manager

Location: Home based with flexible working

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 pro rata depending on experience

Contract: Permanent.

Benefits: 28 days’ holiday pro rata, employer contributed pension scheme, flexible working, home-based working.

The Role

The Finance and Operations Manager will play a key role in growing the organisation and its sister entity during an exciting period of scale up and organisational growth. We are looking for someone who has experience in the not-for-profit sector in the UK in a similar role, and as a natural problem solver and systems thinker, is excited to lay foundations and build and develop the internal systems, policies and processes and budgets for the growing team and organisation.

Reporting to the CEO, this position will work 20 hours per week, virtually from home. Flexible working hours are included and occasional travel required.

About You

As Finance and Operations Manager, you will be comfortable working independently from home as well as part of a team. You are a pragmatic problem-solver - proactive, resourceful, organised, methodical, a systems thinker with an eye for detail, and confident to engage and build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You are continuously curious and will naturally embed feedback loops to review, learn and adapt policies, systems and processes. Self-motivated, your personal values align with the organisations values, namely: vision - ‘the future belongs to those that can see it; balance - balancing the left and right brain thinking, effectiveness - doing the inner work through reflective practises; power and presence through courageous conversations; remaining light and resourceful in facilitating and catalysing change; and a dedication to ‘walking the talk’ of conflict transformation by modelling innovative new ways to integrate it throughout organisational approaches.

You will have experience of:

 

  • Working a similar role
  • Developing, communicating, and implementing policies and procedures for a not-for-profit organisation compliant with UK requirements.
  • Developing and managing multiple budgets and engaging with multiple platforms and suppliers.
  • Budgeting, cash-flow management, maintaining balance sheets and preparing profit and loss statements.
