We’re Shared Lives South West. We’re an award-wining charity that delivers long-term and short break care services throughout Devon, Cornwall and Somerset to help families and individual carers with their important work.

Having been around since 2004, we know a thing or two about supporting adults with care and support needs and enabling our carers to provide help within their own homes.

The Care Quality Commission have rated us as Outstanding and we’re focused on the high quality, personal services that our carers provide.

We are now looking for a Business and Finance Leader to join our team on a full-time basis and develop our business and finance functions whilst championing our vision and values.

The Role

As the Business and Finance Leader, you’ll be helping us to grow and making sure that, through excellent business and financial practices, we remain as successful as possible.

You’ll be guiding our strategic direction and development, ensuring financial and business performance information is used when making important decisions.

Dividing your time between the finance and business functions, you’ll put some great measures in place to help us work as efficiently as possible as well as maintain focus on our vision and values.

About You

To join us as the Business and Finance Leader, you will need:

- Experience of working within a Senior Leadership Team, developing and implementing strategies aligned to organisational vision and values

- Sound knowledge of financial management systems including financial record keeping plus the production of management accounts, budgets and end of year accounts

- Experience in producing financial and performance management information, contributing to financial strategy at leadership and board level

- Experience of developing and overseeing integrated business and finance strategies, practices and policies

- Proven track record of developing mutually beneficial internal and external relationships

- An understanding of risk management, business continuity planning and/or quality assurance systems, or a willingness to learn

- To be excellent at analysing and using financial and performance data

- To be near or fully-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT

Due to the nature of our work, we’ll need you to provide a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and references if you are successful.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Whilst based in Kingsteignton, you’ll travel across Cornwall and Somerset on occasion to spend time at our other offices.
