Independent Age works to ensure that as we grow older, we all have the opportunity to live well with dignity, choice and purpose. To achieve this we provide information, advice and connection services for older people; campaign on the issues that matter most to them around health and care, poverty and loneliness and provide capacity building support to others working in the sector.
This is an exciting time to join the charity as we work on our new ambitious strategy for 2021 – 2023 and increase our profile, impact and reach so more people can live a happy, connected and purposeful later life.
This role is crucial in supporting us in our goal to provide clear, trustworthy information to older people on the issues that matter most to them. Its main purpose is to ensure that our wide range of information and advice resources for both older people and their friends and family is kept up to date. The post holder will be responsible for writing creative and appropriate text for products including guides, factsheets, website content, articles and videos, and ensuring that the content remains accurate, relevant to its target audience, and follows internal policies and guidelines (such as for accessibility and branding).
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of writing and developing resources aimed at the public, and a keen eye for detail. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex issues in an accessible way. Experience of engaging stakeholders and testing new materials is also key to this role.
Independent Age is committed to safeguarding and follow Safer Recruitment practices to ensure we are safeguarding those we work with.
