NCW is a dynamic literature house for contemporary writing. Our home is a Grade One-listed medieval building consisting of a 120-seat venue for live events, workshop spaces, a two-bedroom cottage for writers and translators and modern open plan offices. Dragon Hall is located on the historic King St on the banks of the Wensum River in the heart of Norwich, England’s first UNESCO City of Literature.

NCW launched in summer 2018 but dates back to the early 2000s. Growing from just three staff in 2006, then under the name Writers’ Centre Norwich (WCN), the organisation has grown consistently under the leadership of CEO Chris Gribble. We are a friendly, hard-working team, passionate about working with a whole range of people and communities, supporting people to own and share their own stories.

This is a new role, combining our communications and development functions to best communicate our vision and activities to our audiences and stakeholders. You would be responsible for developing, leading, implementing and evaluating the organisation’s communications and development strategies as part of the organisation’s overall business plan. The role works across the organisation to drive innovation and creativity in order to increase reach, value, revenue and reputation. The Head of Communications and Development works closely with the Senior Management Team with the CEO, Executive Director, Head of Programmes and Head of Commercial and Operations) and manages a small Communications and Development Team
