About The Charity

The charity is the expert voice and leading source of information and advice for people affected by spinal cord injury. For over 45 years, they have been supporting spinal cord injured people and representing the wider SCI community to government and other decisionmakers. Their work in campaigning, education and support is based on the personal experiences of their members.

Their membership continues to grow, and they represent more than 13,000 people. Their belief is that everyone has a right to live a fulfilled life and that means the life they choose, a life that has the same opportunities as everyone else’s.

Role Requirements

To grow, diversify and strengthen their income from charitable trusts and individual donors to achieve a projected income target of £700k per year. Working with the Head of Investments and Partnerships, to develop and deliver trust and individual donor development strategies, and to manage and motivate a high-performing team of three including line management of the Trusts Coordinator and Donor Development Coordinator. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Propositions: To create compelling funding propositions that reflect service delivery priorities.
  • Project Development: To contribute to the development of charitable services, by providing knowledge and expertise relating to external funding opportunities, priorities, and trends.
  • Income: To maximise income raised from charitable trusts and individual donors.
  • Relationships: To manage and grow a network of trusts and donors who are financially, actively, and emotionally engaged with the organisation.
