Communications Officer

Location: Battersea, London

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £30,000 per annum

BookTrust is looking to recruit an experienced communications officer to play a key role in helping us raise our profile and promote the cause of reading to a diverse range of audiences.

We're looking for an ambitious and proactive individual with at least three years' experience to join our busy team. The right candidate will have solid press office or PR agency experience, but also be someone who's used to working collaboratively in a multichannel and integrated comms environment. Your focus will be on supporting the development and delivery of communications plans, producing great content and delivering impactful media coverage.

You should be able to craft compelling copy – from captivating press releases to feature pieces; memorable quotes to case studies - that helps build our profile and showcase the exciting work we are delivering to bring the benefits of reading to families in most need. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to tease out their insight, experience and opinions and use this to develop and pitch insightful and thought-provoking articles, blogs and opinion pieces that you know will resonate with our audiences.

We're looking for someone with an eye for a story and with the tenacity, drive and creative thinking to follow up an idea and create a media opportunity as part of their day-to-day work.
