Our client is a community charity with a green heart that has been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 20 years. Each year they deliver hundreds of innovative environmental and social action projects across the capital. Their projects change places and lives for the better in some of London’s most deprived and disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This includes working with communities to make their neighbourhoods greener and more resilient to climate change, supporting long-term unemployed individuals to find work, helping young people get back into education and training, and advising residents how to save money on their energy and water needs.

Each year this charity’s Volunteering team supports thousands of motivated and caring people to find the volunteering opportunity that is right for them. The team supports prospective volunteers through every stage, from wanting to volunteer, to finding the right opportunity and helping them get started in a volunteer role. Over the past 18 months, our client has deployed 1000’s of volunteers to support COVID 19 volunteering efforts, including vaccine marshalling, food and medicine delivery drivers and befrienders. Their team also work with small local charities and organisations to make sure that they can find and support the volunteers they need to do the vital work that they do. As one volunteer they supported said "having the opportunity to do something I usually wouldn’t have done on my own. It was completely different to my day job and the benefits are immediately visible for the local community and I to enjoy."

The Volunteer Officer will join an established team who collectively work to inspire and place volunteers into a wide range of volunteering roles in Barnet.
