Policy and Public Affairs Officer
The Policy and Public Affairs Officer (Devolved Nations) is an exciting new role in the Policy and Influencing team. The successful candidate will be a key part in taking forward our plans for influencing policy makers, elected representatives, and other decision makers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This role is home based from any of the nations.
• You’ll be involved in our policy, public affairs work and campaigning at all stages - from gathering insight on the issues to engaging elected representative and managing relationships, drafting submissions and key communications, and delivering engagement activities and events
• You’ll work with your Services colleagues based in the devolved nations to deliver a tailored approach to influencing in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales
• You’ll also work closely with your counterpart Policy and Public Affairs Officer who works on UK wide and England influencing activities
• The experiences of children and young people with cancer and their families will be the starting point to your work and you’ll be expected to empower and amplify their voices at every opportunity.
Policy and Public Affairs Officer Requirements:
You’ll be:
• Knowledgeable and keen to learn about the policy landscape and influencing in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales
• Passionate and have experience of working in policy or public affairs - ideally in one of the devolved nations
• Great at managing relationships at different levels - from young people, to elected representatives
• Enthusiastic at collaborating with other teams, organisations and those we support
• Organised and great at keeping engaged with your colleagues all over the UK
• A clear and creative communicator.
