The charity’s mission is to prevent cruelty to children in the UK. They’re leading the fight against child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands and believe that every childhood is worth fighting for.
Position: Helpline Service Head
Salary: £41,736 - £49,101
Location: Birmingham
Vacancy Type: Permanent
Working Hours Per Week: Full time (35 hours) - Please note that this role requires some shift work to be undertaken
Closing Date: 20th October, 2021
The Role
At the charity’s UK-wide Helpline, the priority is to empower the public to protect children and young people. Based in the Birmingham office, as Service Head you will use your extensive knowledge and highly-developed skills in safeguarding and child protection to influence practice and ensure high-quality service delivery in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
You will contribute to service, division and organisation-wide management forums, and provide live oversight and support in the Helpline environment as part of the duty management rota.
About You
You will bring to the role significant management experience of delivering a safeguarding service in a statutory and/or voluntary sector setting, and of working closely with partner agencies and stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for children.
You will be able to motivate a large team of people based in different locations to achieve service objectives and meet key performance indicators, and you will provide direct line management support to a group of Helpline Practice Managers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your child protection expertise within a unique and highly influential national service, to work for an organisation whose core value is putting children first and you to personally make a positive impact on thousands of families across the UK.
In Return
This is a real opportunity to make a difference to children’s lives, but you will also be rewarded with a great working environment, being part of a friendly and supportive team, and stimulating and challenging work, with plenty of development opportunities. You will also receive a variety of rewards and benefits including: generous annual leave, employee benefits and assistance programme, pension and life assurance schemes.
Join today and you’ll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You’ll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that’ll bring the best out in you. And you’ll get to find your own way to make a difference that matters, and that impacts millions of young lives!
Other roles you may have experience of could include: Safeguarding, SQA, Child Safeguarding Practice Review, Child Safeguarding, Helpline Service, Safeguarding Lead, Service Manager – Safeguarding Team, Quality and Safeguarding Manager, Helpline Safeguarding Practitioner, Helpline Practice Manager, etc.
