Job Details

POW are seeking an experienced and creative individual to work within our Progression project. You will work with adults who are or have been in the sex working industry. You will support people around education, employment, social inclusion and overcoming barriers to reaching their potential. You will run weekly peer mentoring groups to improve confidence, provide opportunities and foster positive relationships. In addition to being responsible for a caseload of service users within Progression you will work with the team to deliver our core services - our twice weekly drop in and our evening outreach sessions.

The main role responsibilities (further outlined in the job description) are:

  • To support a caseload of service users on a short- and long-term basis to achieve personal goals.
  • To advise service users around their rights including housing, benefits, employment, and other areas of life.
  • To encourage service users to identify their strengths, working with them in the community, at their homes or other venues to promote inclusion.
  • To lead a weekly peer mentoring progression group for a small number of service users, aiming to improve confidence, work on social inclusion, emotion and mental wellbeing and personal development.

POW Nottingham Ltd is a non-profit, voluntary organisation supporting the rights of sex workers and those at risk of being exploited. POW recognises and supports the rights of individual sex workers to self-determination. This includes the right to remain in or leave sex work. POW aims to empower our diverse community, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education, advocacy and peer support.
