This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, ambitious national charity who believe all young people should have the opportunity to discover their passion and their purpose; to find out what they’ve got and where it could take them. The charity funds and builds state-of-the-art, multimillion pound spaces for young people (called Youth Zones) and drives a growing national network of Youth Zones, providing life-changing support to tens of thousands of young people nationwide. If you feel you have the necessary skills, apply today!

The charity welcomes applications from under-represented groups; in particular, from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals, people with disabilities, and members of LGBTQ+ community. Their dedicated Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Group, with support from the Senior Leadership Team, is actively promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion, ensuring a culture where everyone can be themselves and thrive.

About the role:

As part of the UK-wide growth, the charity’s aim is to successfully open new Youth Zones every year, and so they need to add to their experienced team. Working closely with the Head of New Project Development, the Partnerships Development Manager will develop and build key strategic partnerships and lead the early engagement with local authorities, partner agencies such as health, housing and education providers, the police, fire and probation services, and third sector organisations.

Some of your other key responsibilities will include:

  • Progress future Youth Zone projects, successfully taking them from an initial idea through to a confirmed live project
  • Support the delivery of the organisational target of opening at least four new Youth Zones per year
  • Work with relevant Local Authority Officers and Councillors to develop Youth Zones in their area
  • Work closely to support and assist the charity’s network of key supporters
  • Actively raise the profile of Youth Zones in individual local authority areas and across the UK

About you:

As Partnerships Development Manager you will be dynamic and self-motivated, with a passion for the charity’s youth focussed mission.

You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

  • Worked successfully with senior decision makers, ideally within local authorities and/or other public sector agencies
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and delivering on a range of successful projects
  • Explaining innovative ways of working and gaining buy-in from partners
  • Initiating, managing and prioritising multiple relationships
  • An understanding of the challenges facing and priorities of local authorities
  • Ability to sell concepts and be an effective salesperson
  • A natural communicator, both verbally and written
  • Personal authority and credibility at a senior level, and ability to build rapport quickly
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team but also able to work independently to targets
  • Excellent organisational & administrative skills, with proven experience in effectively managing multiple tasks
  • Financially and IT literate
  • A willingness to travel & work flexibly, including some evening or weekend work

To apply, please submit a CV and cover letter (of not more than one page), explaining clearly why you are interested in the role and how you feel you are suited to it.

The charity recognises that the workforce is under-represented in certain areas and are committed to addressing this. Therefore, they actively encourage applicants to submit anonymous applications; in practice this means removing your name and email address from your CV and cover letter. The HR Lead will have these details from your submission, but they will not be available to the selection panel when they are considering your application.

The charity is committed to the safeguarding of young people. In accordance with their Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires a basic DBS check.

Other roles you may have experience of could include: Fundraising Partnerships Manager, Partnerships Manager, Business Development Manager, Income Generation Manager, Relationship Development Manager, Public Sector, Public Sector Sales, Public Sector Business Development Manager, Local Authority, Client Relationship, Business Development Executive, Local Authority, etc.
