About Resource Futures

Founded in 2006, we are an employee-owned, independent, non-profit-distributing environmental consultancy with a 30-year heritage in the waste and resources industry. Our services are designed to realise our vision of a sustainable world, with a focus on designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use and supporting and regenerating natural systems – a world designed according to circular economy principles. We are not only passionate about what we do, but also, more importantly, about how we do it. We are proud to be a part of the global B Corp movement to use business as a force for good.

About the role

Resource Futures is looking for a new Non-Executive Director (NED) to join its Board of Directors. The current Board comprises of Jane Stephenson (NED Chair), Sam Reeve (CEO), Bethan Jones and David Lerpiniere, (Executive Directors) and Gev Eduljee and Phil Cumming (NEDs). Phil is due to step down from the Board in November 2021 having served for six years. Details here.

We are looking for someone who can bring external insight from the commercial world in the field of sustainable resource management, challenge the Executive team and support the Board to achieve its vision and business strategy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to boost your credibility and reputation and to broaden your network within the waste and resources sector. In joining our Board as our newest NED, you'll be adding value to a company that prioritises people and planet; driven to do business fairly and have a positive impact while committing to high standards.

Remuneration

The position is paid an annual salary of £5,000 (paid through PAYE). Expenses are paid for attending meetings – we encourage the use of public transport where this is practicable.

Payment is for eight days which covers the six Board meetings and two staff days per year. Preparation time for meetings is included in the payment.

If the NED is written into delivery work with clients, this will be paid under a separate agreement treating the work under a consultancy sub-contractor arrangement.

Please send a CV and covering letter outlining relevant experience and expertise to Sam Reeve, CEO – sam.reeve@resourcefutures.co.uk by 18 October 2021.

The successful candidate will be invited to attend the Board meeting on 25 November 2021.
