A charity who work in partnership with employers, education and governments to raise the standards in apprenticeships and technical education so more young people get the best start in work and life, are recruiting for a Head of National Competitions and Careers to cover a maternity leave for 15 months.

This UK charity are part of a global movement which develops excellence in young people and propels them up to world-class standards by testing and assessing their skills and knowledge against peers through skills competition programmes that are run by delivery partners and designed by education subject experts across a range of industries from engineering to digital skills, improving young peoples' confidence and celebrating their achievements.

As the Head of National Competitions and Careers, you will be a leader with strategic experience working within apprenticeships and technical skills, to drive the design, development and delivery of all activities relating to the national training programme, careers advocacy, digital learning offer and ED&I work.

You will need to have extensive experience in managing and delivering multiple, complex programmes that have achieved high profile and impact with knowledge of the further education sector including apprenticeships and technical skills. You will also have experience of managing a team and setting direction for complex areas of work, and managing high profile stakeholder relationships.

The role may involve some national travel with an occasional overnight stay. While the charity is based in central London, as a flexible employer, they will welcome applications from candidates across the UK.
