Head of Strategic Planning & Performance

12 month Maternity Contract

£48,000 - £64,000pa

Woking, Surrey

There has never been a more important time to join the fight for our planet and this is an incredible opportunity for a senior level strategic planner to play a key role supporting the achievement of an ambitious new strategy to ensure a future where people and nature thrive.

This is an exciting time to join the world’s leading independent conservation organisation as we are working to make sure we have effective business systems and processes to deliver our new 3 year strategy and long term impact. As Head of Strategic Planning & Performance, you will lead the process to embed our new strategy and operating model, including the associated culture shift, to ensure strong focus on delivery of our strategy.

We will look to you to play a key part over the next year to build on and improve the effectiveness of the organisation at delivering our strategy, including programme and project management best practice. You will embed and improve robust project, programme and performance management to monitor and evaluate impact and the achievement against goals, as well as generating insights to improve future organisational performance. You will oversee the tracking of organisational plans and progress reporting, including risk management and the identification of barriers to the delivery of the strategy, ensuring effective actions are in place to mitigate.

Comfortable working alongside senior level stakeholders you must have experience of leading strategic planning across an organisation and reporting to senior stakeholders. This will have included bringing teams and departments together to plan and deliver effectively against shared goals.

Able to blend big picture strategic thinking with robust organisational delivery and simple process design, you will have an in-depth understanding of organisation development and cultural change. You will be effective at stakeholder management and leading matrix teams too.

If you have the expertise to help us achieve maximum impact through planning and performance excellence, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
