Are you looking for a new care and support opportunity? If you are passionate about making a real difference through supporting vulnerable people, our client would love to hear from you!

Our client is a leading homelessness charity in London, providing housing and support to over 1,300 people each year. Our client offers support tailored to meet people’s individual needs, including housing, employment and skills training, mentoring and counselling.

They are offering a number of support worker and support assistant roles across their supported housing services in Croydon. Successful applicants will be placed in a service and will work with the customers who live there to help them to reach their potential and improve their quality of life. The role will build on customer care, health and safety, flexibility, adaptability and other skills to assist homeless individuals who are unable to live independently, by offering them the practical and emotional support they need to regain their independence.

They’re looking for those who have experience of supporting vulnerable people to achieve independent living that have knowledge of safeguarding issues and how they apply in day to day work. Due to the nature of the role you’ll need an understanding of the reasons why people become homeless and the needs and challenges they face and of statutory and voluntary resources available to homeless people including an understanding of welfare benefits.

Do you have the ability to take on a caseload with responsibility for key working customers? This could be the ideal role for you!

Please state in your application which roles are of interest to you.

Our client is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from all sections of the community, including people who have experienced homelessness themselves. Equality, diversity and inclusion are key objectives for them and they reflect this in their recruitment practices, actively seeking applications from all parts of the community regardless of race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.  In line with our client’s Opportunity Promise their shortlisting process will ensure they have a diverse group of candidates from underrepresented ethnic groups invited to interview.

In return our client offers their colleagues:

  • a competitive salary, comprehensive training and development programme,
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing each year to 30 days annual leave - plus bank holidays
  • option to buy or sell annual leave up to one week’s annual leave
  • a healthcare cash plan providing cash back towards healthcare bills and other wellbeing benefits
  • occupational sick pay
  • contributory group pension scheme
  • free life assurance
  • cycle to work scheme, tech scheme and season ticket loans.
