Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research and, the best advice and support.
To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information, and services. Their research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to beat macular disease forever.
 
The Role
 
This post holder will work towards expanding and developing a sustainable peer support network for people living with macular conditions, within the Southwest of Scotland. They will act as a main contact for all our support services across the area. They will also be supporting, developing and at times facilitating meetings and events.
 
They will recruit, retain, and manage volunteers and occasionally support development throughout Scotland. This post holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with relevant services in Southwest Scotland.

This role requires the ability to travel across Southwest Scotland and wider Scotland (and occasionally to our Head Office in Andover, Hampshire, England).
