Location: Flexible / West Midlands preferred
Salary: £45,992.41 to £51,147.93 per annum

We have a rare opportunity for someone to cover our high-profile Head of Mental Health & Money Advice position on a 6-12 month basis for maternity cover. We are also open to discussing a secondment arrangement.
 
Mental Health & Money Advice is the only UK wide service to help people understand, manage, and improve both their mental and financial health. The service is delivered in England by Rethink Mental Illness and, as well as our award-winning remote access advice service and website generously funded by our corporate partner, Lloyds Banking Group, includes the recently launched Mental Health Access Mechanism to Breathing Space pilot, funded by the Money & Pensions Service.
 
As Head of Mental Health & Money Advice, you will strategically and operationally lead the charity’s work on all aspects of our Mental Health & Money Advice Service in England and support our delivery partners across the UK. You will forge excellent relationships with external partners, including statutory and corporate funders and potential funders, evidencing the impact our service has on our beneficiaries and how we meet expected KPIs, ensuring high quality delivery at all times.
 
What will you be doing?
 
- Use a project management approach to the implementation of new and innovative elements of advice service delivery, identifying and managing risks effectively
- Develop, roll out and monitor the Mental Health & Money Advice Delivery plan
- Recruit, induct, lead and manage staff to ensure the highest levels of performance
- Support and develop staff through on the job coaching, individual supervision, group supervision and development reviews
- Set and monitor agreed KPIs, manipulate data effectively and produce reports
- Lead on quality, set standards and ensure compliance with chosen external quality standard frameworks, funder standards, and regulatory requirements
- Keep knowledge of mental health, money advice and welfare benefit issues up to date
- Collaborate with colleagues to collect quantitative and qualitative data
- Set annual budgets and budgets for new activity
- Lead on funding bids, tender submissions, and commercial income generation
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
 
Do you have what we are looking for?
 
- At least three years’ experience managing high profile services and providing strong leadership to a geographically dispersed team
- Experience of large (circa. £3million+) budget setting and contract monitoring
- Demonstrable experience of planning and executing projects
- Experience of applying for and maintaining quality standards and accreditations
- Relevant Advice, Information & Guidance qualification or experience of working in the advice sector, particularly social welfare advice
- Experience of providing debt advice and/or complying with FCA Regulatory requirements
- A working knowledge of the mental health system
- IT skills and comfortable using Microsoft Office packages
- Familiarity with legislation, regulation, guidance, codes of practice and industry standards
- Knowledge of telephony systems and options for providing advice remotely
- Experience of working with and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to interrogate and manipulate data to produce accurate reports and analysis of performance
- Comfortable managing health and safety
- To be a confident public speaker, with experience of a wide variety of audiences
- To be well organised with attention to detail
