Manchester Metropolitan University is a thriving modern University located in the heart of a global city. It is committed to developing its outstanding buildings and facilities whilst striving to ensure that bright, young people from all backgrounds have access to an unrivalled education and are adequately supported throughout their studies at the University

The Development and Alumni Relations team supports these strategic priorities by building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with its alumni, other influential individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations.  Working towards an ambitious three-year plan that will see philanthropic income to the University increase tenfold, this is an exciting opportunity for a new Stewardship Coordinator to join a growing team.

 The role

We are seeking a Stewardship Coordinator with fundraising experience who will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a comprehensive stewardship programme at Manchester Met. Maintaining positive donor relations contributes to ongoing and long-term donor support of the University. At the heart of our success is our commitment to the stewardship and recognition of our donors.

Reporting to the Donor & Stakeholder Relations Officer, the post holder will provide practical and administrative support to the development, implementation and delivery of our robust stewardship programme that not only thanks our supporters at all levels, but also clearly demonstrates the impact of their giving.  The role requires initiative, energy and the ability to create innovative ways to deliver this activity.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and self-motivated individual who will support the development and implementation of a successful programme of stewardship for donors and stakeholders to the University. You will be able to think creatively about donor engagement, enjoy a varied role and the opportunity to learn new skills.

You will ideally have experience in either a fundraising or development role within the charity sector or Higher Education and have an awareness of good fundraising practice and methods of donor stewardship. You will be a confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience in either a customer service or client facing role.

You will be able to work autonomously, set priorities and have experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a highly organised and professional manner. You will also ideally have experience of working with databases and the ability to follow complex processes, with excellent attention to detail.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 17 August.

Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to supporting the rights, responsibilities, dignity, health and wellbeing of staff and students through our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

We promote applications from all sections of the community, irrespective of background, belief or identity, recognising the benefits that a diverse organisation can bring. We particularly encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic candidates, who we recognise are underrepresented in this area.

We recognise the benefits and importance of an environment that supports flexible working and are open to conversations about this throughout the application process.
