Alumni Relations Manager

Manchester

Grade 8 (£35,845 to £41,526)

Ref: 3844

Manchester Metropolitan University is a thriving modern University located in the heart of a global city. It is committed to developing its outstanding buildings and facilities whilst striving to ensure that bright, young people from all backgrounds have access to an unrivalled education and are adequately supported throughout their studies at the University.

The Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team supports these strategic priorities by building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with its alumni, other influential individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations. Working towards an ambitious three-year plan that aims to significantly grow alumni volunteering and its beneficial impact on student success, the Alumni Relations Manager will play an important role in strengthening and deepening our relationships with alumni.

The role

We are seeking an individual who will lead the development and implementation of activities in which alumni of all levels support strategic priorities, including student/early graduate employability and internationalisation.

The postholder will communicate, meet, initiate and build relationships with alumni through a range of activities, including digital communications, campaigns, events, volunteering opportunities and services, that will sustain engagement.

The Alumni Relations Manager will also advise colleagues of all levels across the University on the development of strategies that build successful relationships with alumni that impact students.

The ideal candidate

You will have proven experience in alumni relations techniques and activities (or a marketing relationship-building role), ideally in an educational setting.

With a successful track record in creating and managing marketing campaigns, communications and events, you are a confident, creative and capable communicator, skilled in all aspects of project and relationship management, including persuasion and negotiation, and are able to think creatively about ways to engage stakeholders.

You will be intrinsically motivated and be able to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects and deadlines in a highly organised and professional manner.

Closing date: 8th August 2021

Interviews will be held on 9th September 2021
