The Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team supports these strategic priorities by building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with its alumni, other influential individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations. Working towards an ambitious three-year plan that aims to significantly grow alumni volunteering and its beneficial impact on student success, the Alumni Relations Assistant will play an important role in supporting all alumni engagement activity which will continue to strengthen and deepen our relationships with alumni. 

The role 

We are seeking an Alumni Relations Assistant, who will support and help to deliver the University's Development and Alumni Relations strategy by assisting with alumni relations activities that identify new alumni contacts and develop relationships with them through communications, events, social media, benefits and volunteering. 

The post holder will ensure that enquiries from alumni, stakeholders and staff are handled in a prompt and responsive manner, and will provide database and administrative support for all alumni engagement activity. 

The ideal candidate 

You will have recent experience of producing clear and effective written digital, web, social media communications and a proven ability to network, and build and maintain working relationships with all kinds of people.  

You must demonstrate experience of providing excellent customer service and of working with databases to store, extract and manipulate information and reports. You will need to be a highly organised individual with the ability to prioritise work, reach decisions quickly and work effectively in a busy environment as part of a team.
