Trust & Statutory Fundraiser (Maternity Cover)

Home Based (with some travel across Great Britain)

About Us

In every corner of Britain, Royal Voluntary Service mobilises volunteers to support those in need, in hospital and in the community.

Through the gift of voluntary service, our volunteers provide much-needed support for over-stretched public services. They work at scale in the NHS, freeing up staff to dedicate more time to patient care, and within communities to give practical help and support to people when they need it.

Our staff are some of the most passionate and dedicated people in the country, who contribute directly to making society better connected, more inclusive and a place where everyone can thrive.

We are now looking for a temporary Trust & Statutory Fundraiser to join our team and drive support for our organisation. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday. This role is a 12 month position to cover maternity leave. Royal Voluntary Service reserves the right to end the temporary, fixed-term position earlier subject to the post holders return from maternity leave.

The Role

As the Trust & Statutory Fundraiser, you will build strong relationships with our existing funders and identify new funding opportunities for our charity.

Focusing primarily on small and medium sized grants, you will:

- Contribute to the development and delivery of our trusts and statutory fundraising strategy

- Manage a portfolio of grant makers spread across Great Britain

- Assist colleagues with other fundraising and communications initiatives

- Analyse and report on the performance of our grants portfolio

About You

To join us as a Trust & Statutory Fundraiser, you will need:

- Experience of creating cases for support and successfully securing grants

- An understanding of good stewardship practice

- Knowledge of the funding sector

- An understanding of fundraising regulations

- Proficiency in fundraising databases, such as Raiser’s Edge

Other organisations may call this role Trusts Fundraiser, Grants Fundraiser, Trusts & Grants Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Executive, Grants Fundraising Officer, Grants Fundraising Executive, or Fundraiser.

Why you should join our team

We’re proud to be in the top 25 not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK, based on ratings from Indeed. As a valued employee at Royal Voluntary Service, you will benefit from the following:

- An annual salary of £30,999

- An employee assistance helpline

- Potential flexible working

- A great pension scheme

- 25 days’ holiday per annum pro rata plus paid statutory Bank Holidays

About us

Royal Voluntary Service wants to help create a society where everyone feels valued and involved whatever their age.

We are one of the largest volunteer organisations in the country. Our 35,000 volunteers help older people stay active, independent and able to continue to contribute to society. They do this by providing practical and emotional help where and when it’s needed.

Royal Voluntary Service helps in all sorts of ways:

  • We help older people get out of the house for a bite to eat, social occasions or just to see friends
  • We enjoy popping round for a chat as often as is liked
  • We will help with jobs such as doing the shopping and collecting library books
  • We can also do the simple but important things, such as changing a light bulb or fixing a lock
  • We are here to make sure older people are calm and well informed before they have appointments or a stay in hospital, and we’ll check they are ok when they get home
  • We also work on a national level to raise awareness of the issues older people face. We do this through our media campaigns and research, and by lobbying the government for age-related policy improvements.

Be part of an important and growing movement

As a charitable organisation we’ve got big plans for the future. Our aim is to reach two million older people in the next ten years. It’s incredibly important we achieve this as the UK’s older population is growing and needs more support.

Sharing time with older people is enjoyable, rewarding and inspiring for all of us, young and old. By volunteering now you can help today’s generation of older people live and enjoy the kind of old age they deserve.

To support our volunteers we run a full range of fundraising activities that enable them to continue their vital work.
