This is the ideal opportunity for an individual with a background in delivering support to people, including those with multiple and complex needs, to take the next step in their career and join an organisation that’s been helping homeless people for three decades.

You’ll drive the success of a life-changing service that supports individuals to overcome their addictions, transform their lives and achieve independence.

So, if you have a great leadership style and want to join a dedicated, collaborative team and make a difference to the lives of our clients on a daily basis, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a Deputy Housing Services Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of Byron Road, a 15 bed, 24 hour staffed short term hostel and Manor Road, a 15 bed, medium support accommodation service.

Reporting to the Housing Services Manager, you will supervise and support staff, creating an effective staff rota, assist with budget and housing management and ensure the service meets the needs of a diverse client group.

You will plan, direct, co-ordinate and develop the service, ensuring it grows and thrives by creating effective change management strategies.

Additionally, you will:

- Develop and grow local partnerships to the benefit of clients who use our services
- Support the development of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) in the service
- Create an environment in which staff are engaged and empowered
- Ensure the service is financially secure, delivered safely and effectively and meets all relevant Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements

About You

To join us as a Deputy Housing Services Manager, you will need:

- Experience of delivering support to people, including those with multiple and complex needs
- Good IT skills, specifically around the use of Word, Outlook, Excel and internal reporting software
- A good understanding of mental health and the impact that it has on client’s lives
- A good understanding of substance misuse, addiction, dual diagnosis and harm minimisation approaches
- Good leadership skills with the ability to provide clear direction, inspire positive outcomes, identify and develop talent and support individual and team development
- A good understanding of the homeless sector and the factors that lead to, and magnify, the impact of homelessness on individuals and communities

A proven track record of leading and managing teams would be beneficial, as would experience in creating and effectively managing budgets.

Good knowledge of best practice, research, policy and legislation around effective housing management would be an advantage, as would good knowledge of effective housing management, compliance and maintenance of properties.

The closing date for applications is the 13 August 2021 with interviews TBC.

Please note, flexibility will be required on occasion to provide support across other services. As the Deputy Manager, you will also be expected to take part in our paid on-call managers’ provision.
