Environmental and Sustainability Manager (Housing)
£40,815 – £46,225
Solihull, Birmingham Business Park
Permanent, Full Time - 37 hours
This is a great opportunity for you to join one of the UK’s most trusted social housing providers.
The World is changing around us and we all need to play a part to make sure that we protect and nurture our surroundings. Our client is passionate about positive change and is committed to becoming a truly sustainable organisation. They therefore are looking for an individual who believes in their ethos and wants to be part of their sustainable success.
In the brand new role, you will be integral to their strategic plans to ensure they are zero carbon ready by 2050. You’ll be in the first port of call for queries about environmentally positive products for their properties and be a leader in implementing transition to reflect climate change and ecological impact from their activities, including efficient solar panels on their properties. As an ambassador for their sustainability strategies, you will influence those around you to understand the importance of change and encourage new ideas to achieve their environmental commitments with major regeneration in the area.
You’ll bring with you a deep understanding of environmental issues associated with large property portfolios and a passion for changing the impact they have on nature. You’ll be aware of grant regimes and the application process to ensure they are able to receive necessary funding. Analytical and meticulous, you will be accustomed to breaking down complex data and adhering to related regulatory requirements, whilst managing budgets and resources. You’ll be able to use technical sustainability metrics to build robust business models and corresponding investment proposals. More than anything, you’ll be prepared to challenge the status quo and be the driving force in innovative developments.
Due to the nature of the role a basic DBS check is required.
