Research and Influencing Involvement Lead

In 2019, the charity developed a bold new corporate strategy so that it can rebuild more lives after stroke and make a bigger difference to people’s lives. We are recruiting a Research and Influencing Involvement Lead who will lead the development and implementation of the approach to involvement in the work of the Systems Engagement team, with a particular focus on research and influencing. Position: Research and Influencing Involvement Lead

Location: Homebased, U.K nationwide

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: Salary circa £35,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,299 per annum (pro rata) or outer London weighting £1,755 per annum (pro rata) may also be applied in accordance to where you live)

Contract: Permanent

The Role

The Research and Influencing Involvement Lead will be responsible for managing the involvement of people with lived experience of stroke in research, and for further developing and improving this activity. This role ensures that the Association funded research has people affected by stroke at its heart. The role will also support the wider Systems Engagement team to involve people with lived experience in the charity’s policy, influencing and systems partnership work, including policy development, parliamentary engagement and national and local campaigns activity.

The Research and Influencing Involvement Lead, will support work to improve involvement across the organisation, to ensure the vision for the expertise of people affected by stroke to shape decisions at the Association and the wider stroke agenda is achieved. The role will work with colleagues across the organisation to raise awareness of research, research portfolio, and involvement.

About You

As Research and Influencing Involvement Lead you will have experience and knowledge of:

 

  • Using technology and IT systems
  • Maintaining databases and record keeping
  • Involvement and engagement in research
  • Managing range of different stakeholders, including colleagues from different teams, researchers and volunteers
  • Research grant funding
  • Developing and facilitating collaboration, effective networking skills and the ability to use negotiating and influencing skills effectively
  • Supporting involvement in government, health, or social care policy
