This is an opportunity to put all your volunteer management, local campaigning and campaign development skills to the ultimate test, supporting the speakers who bring our message to thousands of young people and motivate them to take action for the planet.

Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.

You’ll manage the pivotal Greenpeace Speaker programme, which inspires, enthuses and ‘activates’ new audiences across the UK. This will involve coordinating and supporting a network of around 100 passionate volunteers, from recruitment, induction and training to ongoing pastoral support, one-to-one mentoring and coaching.

Your objective will be to ensure that the campaign and public outreach potential of the network is maximised. A key responsibility will be to develop plans that support increased community outreach – and to lead on the design and delivery of ‘Action Projects’ with community groups, schools and other audiences, in order to inspire change in their communities.

The role will be remote initially as we continue to be home based under COVID-19. However, the candidate should be able to commute into our London office in the long term.

Requirements

You'll have:

• Experience of volunteer management, ideally with a youth and/or education focus.
• The ability to make and maintain effective contacts and relationships with individuals, networks and groups.
• Experience of designing and delivering training.
• Experience of campaign strategy and tactics, and delivering outreach projects.
• A track record of successful community organising, ideally with a youth, education and/or environmental focus.
