I am delighted to be working with an amazing educational organisation for an Interim Safeguarding Manager. The purpose of this role is to manage safeguarding processes so that information is captured, recorded and referred in a timely and co-ordinated way.

Main duties:
Being the first point of contact for all matters pertaining to Safeguarding
Taking action as appropriate and to maintain accurate records of actions, notifications, reports and records
Ensuring information is shared appropriately, with reporting key internal stakeholders and with the Department for Education, and in accordance with relevant statutory guidance - so that the organisation delivers high quality, reliable and secure inspection services that meet the highest standards of safeguarding practice.

Co-ordinating responses to incoming safeguarding concerns:
Be first point of contact for all matters pertaining to safeguarding, responding promptly and appropriately to all complainants and ensuring all matters are dealt with in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy
Liaising with DfE staff, LADOs and Children's Social Care about action required in relation to concerns raised
Summarise and log all concerns effectively
Maintain a summary sheet for each school detailing contacts, key issues, actions and responses
Proactive coordination of multi-agency responses and internal actions
Maintain up to date list of Local Authority Designated Officers (LADOs) or teams for contact purposes
Termly routine contact with LADOs to ascertain if there are concerns about any schools
Instigate, track, follow up and log contacts with other agencies, including LADOs, to ensure current information is available prior to each inspection

Experience:
Experience of safeguarding principles and effective practice
Previous experience of working for a local authority or interfacing with a local authority, including LADOs and other safeguarding partners (desirable)
Be able to manage with confidence and sensitivity points of contact which are of a challenging, conflictual and difficult nature.
DSL trained (desirable)
