They are looking for an individual who has a proven strategic experience of working within Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at a senior level, and whose EDI expertise, strategic thinking and creative challenge will help them to achieve their vision where everyone can benefit from and act for nature with them.
Who our client are
Our client are a grassroots movement of 870,000 members, 38,000 volunteers and 2,800 staff across the UK. They are at an exciting moment in their 110-year history, with an ambitious new strategy in development setting out a vision of nature in recovery, with abundant, diverse wildlife and natural processes creating wilder landscapes where people and nature thrive.
The next 10 years will be critical in determining what kind of world they will all live in. Our client need to urgently reverse the loss of wildlife and put nature into recovery at scale if they are to prevent climate and ecological disaster. This will require big, bold changes in the way they think and operate, and the development of a strong, collaborative culture.

About you
You will have had a proven track record of taking a lead in driving forward organisational change around EDI in a complex organisation. Your role will be to evolve and deliver their inclusivity strategy to ensure they’re a consistently inclusive movement, welcome to all. You will offer expertise, guidance, support and challenge across a wide range of diversity and inclusion areas.
Your current knowledge of diversity and inclusivity legislation and emerging areas is important, as well as its application across numerous work areas, not least HR, community engagement and campaigns. You will be a confident communicator and creative in your approach in keeping EDI at the forefront of everyone’s agenda. You will also have knowledge and experience of Inclusion measurement frameworks and knowledge of risk management approaches.
You will be a motivated and resilient self-starter, working closely with the senior leadership team and within the Operations Team. You will directly lead a small team comprising an EDI Advisor/Trainer and an EDI Intern and work across the breadth of the organisation providing support and advice both within the central charity and across the federation of 46 independent charities.
You will be a natural influencer and you will be highly personable and able to build effective stakeholder relationships, internally and externally, at all levels. A genuine passion for leading diversity, equality and inclusion work is a must! A desire to take people on the EDI journey with a critical friend approach, rather than one that is combative.
