Citizens Advice Gosport is recruiting a Volunteer and Training Development Officer to develop Citizens Advice volunteering opportunities across all areas of Gosport.  The Covid-19 pandemic and the likely increase in the financial and other problems people will face, means that demand  for Citizens Advice services may rise significantly over the coming year.  We plan to use our experience in providing high quality advice and information by phone and digitally (before and during lockdown) to develop new and innovative ways to meet demand for advice remotely and face to face.  We want to hit the ground running in the next three months and recruit, train and support significant numbers of new volunteers to be ready to meet this predicted rise in demand and support various administrative roles within the organisation.

This is a varied and challenging role working with a large team of paid staff and volunteers.  The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a proven ability to manage people including the ability to recruit, train develop and motivate staff; be approachable with a friendly yet professional manner; have excellent time management and people skills; a proven ability to create a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are well managed, dignity at work is upheld and staff are empowered and motivated to do their best; a proven ability to produce and deliver training programmes, the ability to prioritise own workload and the work of others;  have a proven track record of competence with IT systems; previous experience of recruiting, training and developing volunteers, ensuring all staff receive the correct training suitable for their role to enable them to reach their full potential; to develop and support all staff; maintain and develop data monitoring processes.

The successful applicant will start as soon as possible, working primarily from our offices at Martin Snape House, Gosport.  Our offices are easily accessible and situated in the Town Centre within walking distance of Portsmouth Harbour and the Bus Station.
