We are looking for an experienced Data Manager who is a strategic thinker and skilled collaborator to join our busy team and help lead our data strategy and manage our CRM (ThankQ). This role will be a lynch pin in our work, to fight for the future of our ocean.

You will work across the organisation to ensure we have accurate and accessible data to maximise our conservation impact and supporter engagement. You will champion our CRM system, and help embed it as a vital tool for compliance and regulation - but also for communicating with our supporters in an effective and respectful way.

You will be organised and precise with an eye for detail; ensuring we have the best possible insight, tracking, recording and processing of all supporter interactions. You will also be an excellent communicator, able to work well across multiple teams, often with differing needs, timescales and technical knowledge.

The ideal candidate will use data to guide the business, solving challenges and questions, and supporting the teams to underpin their storytelling with data, in a simplified and compliant way.

By ensuring we are managing and utilising our data effectively you will be playing a key role in enabling us to reach and inspire more people about our ocean.

Key responsibilities

- Ensuring all data is managed effectively across all teams
- Making sure our CRM system is providing the best possible insight, tracking, recording and processing of all supporter interactions
- To work across the organisation providing support and training for all teams to successfully utilise our CRM
- Uphold GDPR compliance across the organisation
- To ensure the CRM works effectively and that it links with our website, finance software and other systems

Supporting your application

Download the information pack and include a motivation statement letter with your CV which tells us why you would like to work with us, and how you meet the role and person specification. We value this element of the application, so make sure you include it.

We aim for an anonymous shortlisting process, so it would be helpful if you leave out any personal information, links or images from the documents you upload.

We understand that interviews can be difficult for some people who have a condition or disability that they live with. We want to make it as easy as possible for every candidate to shine during their application process, so please let us know what we can do to accommodate you.

Our Commitment

Everyone can expect to be treated with consideration and respect and MCS is committed to providing an inclusive environment for all. Good working relationships release the full potential, creativity and productivity of each individual, in an atmosphere where everyone can learn and work without prejudice, discrimination, harassment or violence.

We are committed to developing a team which is reflective of our society, and which can offer insight and views that influence our work. We are particularly interested in applications from groups which are under-represented in marine, environmental and charity sectors.

Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
