The Greenwich Supported Volunteering Project helps people with a disability and/or additional support needs move towards greater community involvement, connectedness, and employment. The current focus is for people with a learning disability and/or autism. This exciting role will engage Greenwich residents who face additional barriers to accessing opportunities through a supported voluntary placement. The project will provide one to one support through a bank of trained mentors and act as an intermediary to ensure people access the services they require through volunteering and training to increase their employment prospects and opportunity to become part of the community.
The project works in partnership with Unity Works and Advocacy in Greenwich to engage with employers.
Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and experience of managing a team of volunteers. In addition, candidates will require a good knowledge of the issues facing people with a learning disability, as supporting this client group is essential.
