Job Details

Would you like to work in an exciting team tackling complex global challenges?

We are looking for an exceptional Programme Officer to join Engineering X and support our Safer End of Engineered Life programme.

Engineering X is an international collaboration founded by the Royal Academy of Engineering and Lloyd's Register Foundation that brings global experts together to engineer change. We work collaboratively to address the great challenges of our age by building programmes which deliver impact and give powerful narratives for wider change. Through our programmes, we connect our global network of expert engineers, academics, NGOs, policymakers and business leaders to share good practice, explore new technologies, educate, and train the next generation of engineers, build capacity, improve safety, and deliver impact.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is harnessing the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone. In collaboration with our Fellows and partners, we’re growing talent and developing skills for the future, driving innovation and building global partnerships, and influencing policy and engaging the public.

Together we’re working to tackle the greatest challenges of our age.

We are looking for a passionate individual to support the Engineering X Safer End of Engineered Life programme which seeks to address the safety issues that occur when engineered products and structures reach the end of their useful life, as well as the environmental impact of poor waste management. This is a dynamic and fast paced programme that tackles complex challenges from ship recycling to open burning of waste to influencing circular design. Through this role you will work with a huge range of exciting global stakeholders, scope and deliver international workshops and events, support with the management of impact grants and more.

We have big plans this year and we would like to find someone to get stuck into the daily activities and long-term vision of the programme. You will have experience of developing and managing partnerships to deliver programmes and broad knowledge of administration systems.

In return, we offer an unrivalled package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes and flexible working, as well as significant investment into your personal and professional development. Our offices are based in central London near St. James' Park. We have adapted our working practices in response to Covid-19, and all staff are currently working remotely. We support flexible working and would be happy to discuss working patterns with candidates.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

To find out more and to apply, please visit our website via the apply button.

Closing date: Noon on 12 July 2021.

Interview expected to commence from week commencing 2 August 2021 and will be held virtually.
