About the programme

As the biggest community gateway in the country, our client has ambitions to pioneer a ground-breaking new approach to community empowerment. They are creating the UK’s first community incubator – a major new innovation programme that will bring their communities together to tackle the big social issues that matter to them. They are going to involve hundreds from across the community in identifying social problems and coming up with initial ideas. After that they are going to create five teams of local people and pay them to work full-time for six months to develop innovative new projects and services that tackle these social challenges, from social isolation to opportunities for young people.

 

About the role

They are currently seeking a Project Officer to support the delivery of this ground-breaking approach as part of a sector leading Community Empowerment Team. 

 

Your key requirements for this role include:

· Be responsible for providing efficient logistical, project and administrative support 

· Support the project and stakeholders, both internal and external

· Helping to keep team members to schedule and to budget and monitor progress against the project milestones 

 

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:

· You will be a supportive team player who can help the team to deliver

· You will be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment, switching focus between workstreams as the project demands

· You will have a strong team ethic together with a high level of self-motivation and ability to meet goals.

· Have evidence of professional training, development or qualifications relevant to project management

· Practical experience of working in a matrix- or project-based environment

· Experience of a range of IT systems and applications
