About this job

With an anticipated start date in September 2021, the charity is looking for a passionate Senior Public Affairs Officer to support the delivery of their innovative and creative public affairs programme to help make positive change for people affected by MS.

Leading on key parliamentary activities, including the management of the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) for MS, you’ll play a key role in influencing politicians and decision makers on key issues affecting people with MS. You’ll have experience of working in an influencing role in parliament/or in a lobbying/parliamentary affairs role.

You’ll have a proven track record of negotiating with, and influencing, high profile individuals within the political and policy making sphere and a detailed knowledge of parliamentary processes and procedures.

You’ll be undertaking research and drafting briefings for senior staff and the Executive Team, including the Chief Executive. You’ll be an excellent communicator and able to produce clear and concise policy briefings, reports, and effective presentations. You’ll have excellent analytical skills including the ability to grasp issues quickly and to proactively analyse and communicate political change.
