 Salary from £46,100 to £53,295 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £59,354 inclusive of London allowance

The International Growth Centre (IGC) is a research centre of the LSE and aims to promote sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. The IGC directs a global network of world-leading researchers and in-country teams based in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Mozambique, Myanmar, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Uganda and works closely with partner governments to generate high quality research and policy advice on key growth challenges.  Based at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and in partnership with the University of Oxford, the IGC is principally funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The LSE is registered in countries in Africa and South Asia to support the successful delivery of the IGC. 

Based centrally within the LSE and with close working relationships within IGC, the post holder will take overall responsibility within the School for monitoring, managing and meeting all compliance and governance related requirements related to the IGC’s international activities and related registered LSE overseas branch entities.  They will work closely with IGC senior management team, in-country teams and central LSE teams, and manage external consultants that advise and support LSE with international compliance requirements.  The post holder will lead on risk and security for the IGC, specifically its overseas activities.  The role reports to the Head of LSE Legal in the LSE Secretary Division, with a matrix reporting line to the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer (CFAO) of the IGC.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience or knowledge of corporate governance regulations, registering or working with overseas registered offices and their related corporate compliance.
  • Excellent communication and demonstrated stakeholder management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the essential points of complex legal and financial arrangements and their practical effects in order to apply specialist advice to the organisation.
  • Able to work effectively and independently across an international organisation, forming strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.

 

The position will be based in the IGC head office located within the LSE in central London and will be offered on an open-ended basis to September 2026, subject to funding and review in 2023. We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.
