Events & Community Fundraiser
Swindon, Wiltshire

Are you passionate about organising events? Do you have great relationship management and building skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a project well? If so, we have just the job for you!

A little bit about us

We are an independent hospice supporting a community of 300,000 people in Swindon, Marlborough and North Wiltshire, and the villages of Lechlade and Fairford in Gloucestershire. It is a dedicated provider of specialist end of life care services within the area. The Hospice’s multi-professional teams support people in the community, in care homes and at the Hospice in Wroughton. Care is also extended to the families and friends of patients.

Our fundraising team raises vital income to enable us to care for people with life limiting illnesses in our community. We raise income through various events, activities and platforms and promote the Hospice out in the community.

We are now looking for an Events & Community Fundraiser to join our friendly and committed team.

What will you be doing?

As an Events & Community Fundraiser, you will deliver exciting campaigns that will generate funding and income for our work.

As an ambassador for the charity, you will be the enthusiastic and passionate voice of Prospect Hospice. You will talk to and support a wide range of individuals and groups, both face to face and via presentations. You will recruit sign-ups, encourage full fundraising potential and galvanise further support.

You will also work with a number of external agencies and suppliers, as well as our internal communications team, to enable seamless organisation and promotion of initiatives. You will continuously review the activities and events to facilitate the best possible experience for supporters, as well as ensuring good return on investment and growth in income.

What’s more, you’ll be responsible for your own budgets (income and expenditure) and you’ll have control of our calendar of regular and new campaigns so that you can maximise income.

What will you need?

To be considered as an Events & Community Fundraiser, you will need:

- Experience of organising events and promotion
- Excellent time management, administration and organisation skills
- Effective engagement and communication skills at all levels, including public speaking
- Enthusiastic about what we do with a proactive, target driven approach
- The ability to take responsibility and act on your own initiative
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Charity fundraising experience and/or knowledge would be highly beneficial to your application, but this is by no means necessary.

In return, you will receive:

- Salary of £22,488 - £25,134 per annum (depending on experience)
- 27 days’ annual leave
- Contributory pension scheme
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Family-friendly policies and practice
- Supportive induction, and training and development
- Free parking

This role is an amazing opportunity for an individual with event management experience, great admin skills and a creative hand to develop and progress as a fundraising professional.

You will play a key role in making a vital difference to our organisation and the lives of hundreds of patients and their loved ones each year.

You’ll discover an environment of expertise and dedication that is geared toward helping rather than the bottom line. We also offer a superb array of benefits that ensure your passion remains fired up and you can achieve great things with us.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. However, the ability to work evenings and weekends when required is essential.

Other organisations may call this role Community Fundraiser, Fundraising Executive, Events Fundraiser, Fundraising Officer, Events Fundraising Officer, Funding Officer, or Community Fundraising Officer.

The closing date for this role is the 16th June 2021.

Interviews will take place on 22nd and 23rd June 2021.

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications that we receive, it is not possible to respond to everyone. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks, following the closing date of this vacancy, your application will have been unsuccessful.

So, if you’re seeking your next challenge as an Events & Community Fundraiser, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
