SALARY: £31,886 per annum (FTE for 37 hours a week)
Carers in Hertfordshire is a well-respected, independent, carer-led charity, established in 1995. The charity works to ensure that all Hertfordshire’s unpaid carers are recognised, valued and supported in their caring role, have the opportunity for a life outside caring and can exercise a collective voice in the county. We support adult carers and young carers and provide information and advice. We also arrange a variety of ways for carers to work collaboratively with professional staff in a wide range of voluntary and statutory organisations, to link our services and help those organisations to develop a carer friendly focus.
The charity has experienced significant growth over recent years, with 130 staff and over 34,000 registered unpaid family carers. During this expansion, the charity’s commitment to driving quality improvements has led to an expansion in the nature and extent of services offered, as well as national acknowledgement through a GSK Impact Award.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fundraising Officer to join us for a period of maternity cover to further develop, drive and implement our Fundraising Strategy and Plan, which is seeking to achieve an annual income target of c.£105,000. During this period, the organization will be review its investment in fundraising with the possibility of reshaping the team to further develop the function.
This post will work across a broad portfolio of fundraising. The post holder will be expected to manage a programme of work including co-ordinating and writing applications to grant-making trusts, supporting community fundraising events and Charity of the Year partnerships, and delivering and growing an individual giving programme.
The Senior Fundraising Officer will be responsible for proactively researching new funding opportunities, stewarding existing funder relationships, and growing our Trust & Foundations portfolio. The role will provide dedicated stewardship and support to existing fundraisers and donors and recruit supporters to raise income and profile. This varied role will also identify and engage SMEs, groups, associations and schools – with the aim of securing long-term charity partnerships.
A good standard of IT Skills is required, including use of databases, Microsoft office and the internet. The role will require travel across Hertfordshire, so you will need the ability to travel independently, have access to a car and have a full valid driving license.
