Philanthropy Manager

Do you have passion and ambition to deliver high quality, compassionate and ‘life changing’ therapies to ‘unlock’ the potential of disabled children?

We are looking for a talented and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join the Fundraising Team.

Position: Philanthropy Manager

Location: Flexible/home-based. However, you will be required at times to attend the main offices in Bridgwater, Somerset

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, part-time or job share considered

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 pro-rata dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Minimum 25 days + 8 public holidays per annum pro rata, this increases with

length of service to a maximum of 30 days + 8 bank holidays pro rata 3% employer contribution to the Brainwave scheme, employee contributions are payable under new Government regulations.

It is an exciting time to be joining the charity, as it heads towards celebrating its 40th year of providing life-changing therapies for disabled children and their families. This could be anything from a child walking or feeding themselves, to counting or forming sentences.

The Role

The Philanthropy Manager is responsible for managing the operational delivery of the Charitable Trust, Major Donor and Legacy Giving Strategy, as well as managing a team of three – Philanthropy Assistant, Fundraising Team Support and Marketing and Communications Officer.

Working closely with the CEO you will deliver the fundraising programme achieving targets that encompass charitable trusts and foundations, individual major donors, and the development of legacy prospects whilst building income from charitable trusts, foundations, and legacy giving

You will work with colleagues to maintain existing and develop new individual major donors with a view to increasing income from this stream.

About You

As Philanthropy Manager, you will have a proven track record of developing new and maintaining existing relationships with charitable trusts and foundations, major donors, focusing on securing multi-year grants, donations, and legacy pledges.

You will have:

 

  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and relationship building skills
  • The ability to represent the charity to senior-level supporters and internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience of developing income from Charitable Trusts, Foundations, Major Donors and/or Legacies
  • A proven track record of successfully building long-term relationships with funders / donors
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
